  16.      Clicking the Preferences button in the Control Panel displays the above dialog.

  18.      The Show startup icon checkbox controls whether the Notify icon will be displayed as Notify is installed at system startup time.  Note that if Notify has difficulty installing itself, it will display a diagnostic icon regardless of the Show startup icon checkbox.  (See Notes chapter.)

  20.      If a notification comes up on screen while you are not there, you probably don‚Äôt want it to stay on the screen indefinitely.  The pop-up menu gives you choices of 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and Never for automatically cancelling a notification that has not been acknowledged.

  22.      OK and Cancel have the expected effect of dismissing the dialog, and saving or not saving any changes as appropriate.
